Thoreau Park Elementary School Reviews

The administrative staff did not work with me and my children. They may have sat and listened, but at the end of the year we were still in the same spot having problems. I even brought our problems to the attention of the school board and nothing was ever resolved. I can not give this school a single star!

I currently have 3 daughters at Thoreau Park, and I must say that I am looking into alternative schools. I feel that the school is too crowded, too much homework is given, and the administrative staff is not willing to work with parents (they will waste your time listening to you, but do as they please anyway). I also am displeased with the school board. The administration is also unwilling to solve problems that parents may have with school staff, yet they keep asking parents to pass levies. Threats of teacher cutbacks and outrageous pay-to-play fees are scare tactics, and our children should not suffer while the school board administration gets richer. Most of the teachers at Thoreau Park are good, however there are some bad apples in the barrel. I would say that Thoreau Park is an average school, but not as good as some in the district.
