John Marshall High School Reviews

The school is one of the better ones in cleveland but the principal is not real respected by teachers and students alike..She spends more time yelling at teachers because a student has a shirt not tucked in, and she does it in front of the students thereby negating any authority the teacher had...But the teachers are great and i was told one of the english teachers is actually a published author!

John Marshall is a great school. Most of the feedback is from outsiders. The students are highly motivated and come from an array of different backgrounds. It's a place where everyone feels welcome. The Principal sets a positive tone and there are many teachers and parents who really care about the kids! Sure there's a fight or suspension from time to time, but where isn't there? Instead of being judgemental, come visit our school.

This is not the best school academically speaking! I've been in the school and every time I go I see the how the staff, starting with the principal don't respect the students and then they demand respect from them. How are the students going to give respect if the adults are not giving them respect either!

i am currently a junior at John Marshall and this school has alot to offer. many students dont like it but it is alot of students that have good teachers and are actually learning. the counslers reallt want whats best for fyou and even though some teachers are horrlble teachers there are some that are more then qualified to teach us

I am an eleventh grader attending John Marshall and I have to say that I really enjoy it there. I am intrigued to find that many people try to speak wrongly against my school. I do agree with some of their thoguhts and comments about the conditions of the school, but I wish they would look deeper than that. At JMH there has to be the richest diversity I've seen anywhere in Ohio. So far I've met people from across the world who fit in just fine. Recently I was at the Board of Education meeting held at JMH performing a diversity choral with several other students there. We talked about how JMH is one of the best schools academically, diverse wise, and well overall. One line is: 'When we leave here, we will have one of the best educations that the world has to offer.' That is true.

This school is by far the worst school I've ever attended. The classrooms are falling apart, recently there are fights, the principal is going out of her mind with the suspensions. If you're in the least bit out of dress code, you get a 5 day suspension now. I, in all honesty, think that this is outrageous. The cafeterias are rarely ever clean, half of the teachers there could care less about their students. There ARE good teachers, don't get me wrong, but the bad teachers out number the good ones. The bathrooms are completely horrible. There are 3 floors each with bathrooms on them, and they keep closing the girls' bathrooms. The 2nd floor girls' bathroom is always closed, and they always rotate between the 3rd floor and the 1st floor girls' bathroom to be open. And when they are open, they're a complete mess.

i love this school i play on the basketball team if u like sports come to marshall our football team not so great but if u want to make it better come check us out our teaching staff is really good so come to marshall were your future starts here!!!!!!!!!!

i am a senior at this school andit is the first public school I have attended. I love it. The diversity and character of each student unifies the school. The teachers acctualy care about what is going on, the security is the best in the system, and the students are among the best achieving students in the district.

This is my first time going to a public school.I like it so far. The teachers are really good.

I do admit, the teachers at JMH are very good. But that's the end of it. The classrooms are falling apart along with, the cafe and hallways. The bathrooms are horrible.

My daughter is currently in the 11th grade at JMH and she absolutely loves this school. 2006/2007 is her first time in the Cleveland Public Schools System. I was reluctant to place her in Cleveland Schools because of the horror stories I have heard about the system. I even made myself a promise never to send her or my younger daughter to Cleveland Public Schools. Well JM has made me eat my words. Her grades have really improved. I wish she had begun her high school years at JMH.

I was a 2003 graduate of John Marshall. I enjoyed my time there. The teachers were great and the principals were great and I learned a lot and had fun. One thing that I didn't particularly like was that sometimes, opportunities weren't broadcasted to everyone. I was blessed enough to enroll in High Tech Academy when it first started while many of my classmates had never heard of it because they weren't told. Other than that, Marshall is among the best Cleveland Public Schools.

I'm an '06 graduate of John Marshall High School and am currently a student at Kent State University. I attended JMHS from grades 10-12. JMHS is the most racially diverse school in Cleveland and is great compared to a lot of the other Cleveland public high schools (of course, any resident of Cleveland knows that doesn't say much). JMHS properly prepared me for college (the least I can say about Cleveland School of the Arts). The mandatory senior seminar class is excellent for preparing the seniors for college. The teachers are excellent (once again, I can't say the same thing about Cleveland School of the Arts). Well, I had some great times at JMHS. I hadn't enjoyed school that much since grades 1-3 in Hawaii.

I have five children attending John Marshall this year. My daughter will gradate June 07' I always give my children advice when they leave for school. That is to have respect and a good attitude. When I go JM the staff is very helpful. The counselors and the teachers work very close with my children. Speaking for my family I am very proud to have my children attend John Marshall High School

John Marshall is a good School my oldest daughter attend this school with good grades, to day she is a college graduate, and now my youngest daughter is almost finish, I do work but I make time to see how my child is doing.I think we need more parents to be involved and help our teachers to do the best. I do enjoy this part of my daughter's life like I did with my other daughter to me it is fun. The teachers a Jonh Marshall are excelent no matter what they make time to talk to me, I also advice my daughter to behave, I dont see any thing bad, may be because I am involved.

Marshall has some of the best teachers in the state of Ohio. It's extremely rare to find so many outstanding teachers that are dedicated and truly care about their students in general these days, let alone so many in one building. Thanks to all the teachers at Marshall!

I have had two children at John Marshall and they love it there. Never had any problems with the students, teachers are great considering what they actually go through with the kids. These teachers really care about their students. Just wish alot of the parents would get more involved in supporting their kids at football, baseball what ever the sport they need to be there yelling and screaming and being there for them. Only problem I have with the school is the lack of respect the kids have for security. Attitudes galore fly through the halls. Support our school, kids and teachers get involved with what ever you can

John Marshall is not as bad as people make it out to be. All of the publicity we get is bad, none of the good stuff is ever mentioned. Like our drill team, hi-stepping team, baseball, not football but you get the picture. We may be low on supplies and falling apart but we have great teachers. They make the best of a bad situation. I Love John Marshall.

I think that John Marshall is an ok school. But i have to admitt that there is alot of voilence and disrespect in that school with both treacher's and students. The teachers, students, and parent's all need a reality check. there is too much hate going on and it really needs to stop. John Marshall students really need help and they don't put there trust in the teacher or any of the falcuty because of all this disrespect against one another. Parent invovlement is an absolute 0. The students don't care because they see that the parent's don't care. And since the parents don't care thats opening up a door for students to do more damage. that's what i think about John Marshall.

I attended John Marshall for two years before Moved out of state. JMH is a good school. The teachers not only teach you book work they teach you life lessons. I wish I was going to attend this year. The kids there are alright most of them have good hearts the staff is one of the most realist and best group of teachers there is.

John Maeshall High school is a Terrible school. the Ceramics class is alaways low on supplies and the teacher has to pay for the supplies out of her own pocket. They serve terrible lunches and the cefeteria is hardly ever clean. The bathrooms are disguting, people smoke in them all the time and the only bathrooms are on the first floor. One bathroom for boys and one bathroom for the girls. The classrooms are falling apart as well as the bleachers in the gym. Windows are always broke and garbage bins are always overflowing. John Marshall in my opion is not a safe or high quality school.

John Marshall, being in the biggest high school in the Cleveland Public school district has by far achieved my expectations. The school is clean, the faculty are good role models for students in a well diverse environment. Graduating from JMH is awarding.
