Highland Park Community High School Reviews

I graduated from HP and in my opinion it was and is a wonderful school. Since graduating I have recieved my Bachelor's degree and Master's degree. If it had not been for my HP schooling I am not sure that I could have accomplished all that I accomplished. HP stand up!

highland park high is out of control, there is no order, booksfor the tudents to take home,no weekly report, calls when students are absent etc. this is my child senior yr.i am so glad she is leaving this school. there is fighting almost every day. God help highland park high

Highland Park Community High school is a great school filled with very intelligent and tallented students, but it just needs more programs that the students are interested in so they can succeed

This is a great school to interact with peers, play sports, and get a full highschool experience.

I am a senior at Highland Park Community High and I feel that the school is a decent school. We don't have the advantages that some schools have. We are in a low income neighborhood, so therefore the parent involvement is not because parents work, but Highland Park has some great things to offer. We have an excellent ROTC program and a pre-calculas program. Many of our students excell because of the great teachers who work at our school, ne being one of those students. We have extra-curricular activities, including modeling, tutoring, and ACT prep. Our teachers and community is involved in everything we do. I owe my sucess to our principal Mr. Craig and all of the teachers at Highland Park Community High.

That is a good school. I know cause I went there and wish to go back my senior year. Teachers are good at teaching and also helping out with others. Very good basketball team and etc. Go polar bears go!

I am a graduate of Highland Park High school class of 2001 I now attend Florida A&M university. I feel that the school lacks resources for a child to become sucessfull on the next level. I felt that it has some teachers who care about the students, but lacks the tools to carry out goals. And the facility is poorly maintained. This makes it harder for a child to learn. And the enviroment outside the school is also poor.

I believe that the school has improved since we got Mr. Derrick Lopez as a principal. There is a little progress going on. Even though he is hard on us sometimes he only wants to make our school a better and safer place. And I for one want to congratulate him.

I am a graduate of Highland Park Community High School. I graduated in 2002. I currently attend the University of Michigan. In my opinion, this school does not prepare their students for college. The teachers who actually care about their student's success, is scarce. There is not much pride in the school. Programs, such as, ROTC and the POLYPRO team are two of the few programs that keep this school proud. A majority of the community (especially parents) do not involve themselves in student education. I believe the community's involvement will help this school become better.
