Maybury Elementary School Reviews

If you can't afford to move to a suburb for a superior education, then living in Detroit, within Maybury boundaries is your best bet! The principal goes out of her way to help each student and their parent(s) academically, socially, even financially if necessary. Although the teachers seem weary, overwhelmed,under-resourced, and underpaid, in general they maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile for their students. Unfortunately, parent involvement is less than optimal, but it's nice to see that the few families that do contribute to the Maybury community give 100%. Until my family can afford to move north to the 'burbs, we'll stay close to Maybury and continue to send all of our children there.

I really don't like Maybury School; It hasn't egough space for kids, the gym is small, doesn't have air condition, smells nasty in summer time, and the kids lunch room is in the gym too. Bathrooms are ugly, cold and no paper. The school building is old, rooms are small. It doesn't have any sport class. School doesn't have any guard or safety personal to take care of the kids getting out school, anyone easely could kidnap any kid, also the clark street is really dandegous to cross, they don't count with any school patrol like others school to put order in streets. Theacher are nice and hardworking people, they are always working with all kids. Principal Elen Snedeker is a nice lady, always triyng do the best, but they will need more budget to do someting else, because they can't do it alone. So think twice if your want put your child in this school that need a huge improvement.
