“Fitzgerald does not function as a school should. How can learning go on with so much confusion? I pulled my child out and am so glad. Now my child can concentrate on academics instead of listening all day to disruptive students who have no respect for learning. Test scores are low. And the school is not clean. Not a place to learn.”

“I am also a parent and volunteer at Ella Fitzgerald. I think that this school is an excellent school in the Detroit Public School Area. The principal not only knows the kids on a first name bases but she visits each and every class. I think that she deserves an apple eveyday. I think that their Pre-K and Kindergarten Tachers are outstanding. They taught my child to read at a third grade level and now he is in Honors FIrst Grade. “I'm really concerned about this school and what is really going on. I study with my child, I work with with her on her homework everyday, she's in school everyday, I'm at the PTC, for the last past two years she's has gotten a C on her math a C on her reading nothing has changed and here we are in 2004, and still nothing has changed with the support I'm giving her, something is not right. I recieved a letter from the Board of Education telling me that Ella Fitzgerald didn't pass the annual test. And that I have a choice to either send my child on charter Bus or she stay at the school for supplemental Tutoring, the children have been in school since Aug. 25, 2004 and they still don't have the tutoring. Mon-Fri school starts at 7:35 and end at 2:35, not anymore, my daughter get's out on fri's at 1:30. What ya think?”
