Clague Middle School Reviews

Academically, it s a hit or miss with teachers, but overall, they lack manners. Fortunately, my daughter is a good student. Thus, we have only come to the school on a few occasions. The principal is a very nice but it is clear that he avoids any confrontation; which gives teachers more power than they know how to manage. Perhaps they should have a professional development day on, treat others the way you would like to be treated .

I have had one daughter graduate from Clague and one is now a 6th grader there. We home schooled them until 6th grade. The transition has been very good. The teachers are, for the most part, very nurturing and caring. They have helped my daughters adjust to public school and prepare for high school. I also consider it to be a safe place for my children to learn. The teachers and administration work well together to create a disciplined, positive learning environment. The academic curriculum is challenging as well. I am looking forward to having my three younger children to attend Clague as well.

Three of our four children have attended Clague, with the fourth headed there in the autumn of 2007. All our children attended a wonderful private elementary school, and we chose our neighborhood public school of Clague for many reasons. First, the community cares so much about children. Over 300 parents volunteer at the school each year, with the principal and staff encouraging parents to be a part of many committees and teams. The PTSO has record donations each year, which funds classroom programs. In the 2006-07 school year, the parents funded $15,000 in classroom grants for teachers. The Clague staff produces engaging science projects, strong programs in language arts, math, and music. The school has flourished remarkably under the leadership of the principal and assistant principal. Parent communication is paramount to this administration. Also, our kids have done well in high school and entered college with several advanced placement credits.

In the past (about 6-8 years) ago Clague had serious enough problems that we chose not to send our middle daughter there. But since Michael Hecker has taken over as principal, the overall school environment and attitude of the staff has improved immensely. Our two youngest children have attended 6-8 th grades there and we have been very pleased with the quality of the education, extracurricular activities and overall support they have received.

Activities and the running of the school are very disorganized and unsafe. The school may have potential to be a great one if the administration/leadership of the school was changed. Extracurricular activities are great and there are some excellent teachers.

I have been a Clague parent for six years and I love the school. The teacher there are great. I love how Clague has the parnets alway informed. When my youngest finish her last year at Clague it will be a sad time for me. Clague has prepared my kids for not only High School but for where ever there lives take them.
