Marilyn F. Lundy Academy Reviews

no violence small classrooms easy work good teachers good kids, but we need more activites

As a staff member that has been at Lundy for the past 2 semester, I've seen a great improvement to both the student body and staff have greatly improved. I stayed because I'm committed to helping our children no matter what the background is. We (the staff) come early and stay late to ensure the every child receives a fair and quality education. Our test scores are improving, our students are becoming better writers, students who need tutoring ask for it, and parent involvement has improved greatly. If I had to personally rate Lundy, I'd have to give them a four. Our commitment is based on our hearts and love for teaching, not our paychecks!

After reading the other reviews I was a little concerned for my child at Lundy Academy, but after seeing the involvement of the teachers and staff in my child, I knew that I was making a good decision. I know that last year was not the best environment and was thinking about changing schools, but looking at the new staff this year with all that they are tyring to do and the constant attention the teachers and staff are giving not only my child, I am very pleased. Keep up the good work and there is no doubt that we can be a great school.

As a parent, I must say that I am very dissappointed in the service Lundy Academy has provided to the students . The staff and administration needs to develop a new plan for the students. I agree with the parent that stated they have a lot of ambition, but they do not act on it. As a charter school, I dont' feel my child has been given the opportunity to excel there. I am very disappointed withthere performance. Most of the kids seem to have behavioral problems, which intephers with the students that are there to learn.

Lundy is not the best academy high school to enroll children. I agree with the previous parents, that Lundy needs to screen their students better and not just enroll student as a number for funding. Lundy does need to improve, teachers are constantly leaving in the middle of the school year. Yes, please list what type of school Lundy is trying to pursue, because it is not a business/technology school. Most students are extremely bad and have been kicked out of other schools. I enrolled by daughter for the smaller class size not as an alternated high school for bad children. If you know what I know, do not enroll your child.

Lundy has a great new building and is making improvement. As a public school academy, we cannot self select students. We believe in helping all students regardless of background. Keep up the good work as you work to improve student achievement. The students are great at Lundy Academy.

The Marilyn F. Lundy Academy has a long way to go before it can be considered a legitimate high school. The goals set by the school are very ambitious, but in all reality, they are not being accomplished. It is supposed to be an academy of business and technology, but it looks more like an alternative ed high school. The student body is made up of all of the students who are expelled from other schools b/c of discipline problems and a few students who are looking for a school that will help them succeed. This mixture is causing problems. The school needs to decide whether it is going to be an academy of business and technology or a alternative ed high school. There should be more selective screening for admission to Lundy, and this will help them obtain all of the goals they have set.

This school is by far the worst school ever, the school is very unclean, and is not in an safe enviorment. -Ms.Harris

It is wonderful to have a school of this kind in my neighborhood. I feel it is an honour for my children to attend such a school. My impression of this school was positive on first sight. Now that my chilren attend I know that I made the right choice. I told all my friends and family. They enrolled some of their children too. Thank you Principal, Teachers and staff.
