Weston Technical Academy Reviews

I am appalled, shocked and utterly dismayed by the experience my children had at Weston this year! Not only did Weston fabricate after school activities for students, they provided a substandard tutoring program that was often cancelled! The teachers were harsh and uncaring, opting to utilize worksheets to keep students occupied instead of learning. The staff morale is so low that you can often hear teachers complaining openly during the school day. Teachers band together against students to attempt to intimidate them. There is no training to help teachers cope with different learning styles. Therefore, students are often given failing grades when the school has actually failed them! Parents, please consider yourselves warned. This 'school' sees your children as potential revenue instead of future leaders.

Actually the school is not that great They need to make it bigger and get new lockers. They also need morre classes dont nobody want to go to no school with the same boring classes. They write up and put out for dumbs things like your uniform. Let me not tell you about uniforms they make you wear a hot blazer and shirt with a tie. I can understand if we could wear polo shirts and khaki pants but they wanna trip. That school is horrible.

My name is Takeya Strange. I`ve been at weston since the 9th grade n now am in the 11th. Overall the school been great. The teachers here care about the students education. There are many faculties that cares. Such as Mr.Dicks, Ms. Hamilton,Mrs.Downham,Ms.Pouncy,Ms.Gonzalez and many more.

My name is lauren and i go there and still go there now as of 2008 Weston has lockers now and has secruities that keeps us safe. Since going to weston We have alot of teachers who care and alot of faculities who care such as hamilton, dicks, pouncy, johnson, gonzalez and many more. I recommened you try out weston for at least a year i admit it is not the best but it is a caring safe and fun experience.Although some teachers are boring all of our teachers strive us for the best and trust they take no bull only excellence A current student Lauren E. Sowell Try it out

Western Technial Academy have had there problems with the students/ teachers/ parents in the past years. 2006/2007 has came quiet an improvement since 2005/2006. The new principle has put on a great impact to the new school year with the high school student in general. It has also been very convenice for providing elementry school for the little student as well. It has not been a inconvenicy for me to get to work on time an worry about being late due to running from one school to another. Mrs. Principle, thank you very much for your help.

I am a Alumni of Weston Technical Academy. As far as I'm concerned, Weston was the best school I went to. Equipped with small class sizes and caring teachers this school could possible blow Detroit Public Schools off the map. I am proud to be an alumni of a school that cares for its children. I have only one concern, they must add an foreign language class to both middle and high school students. Other The that teachers will try to work with both parents and students to ensure that your child makes exceptional grades. Also, equipped with the new tutoring program the school is becoming more and more interested in the students academic performance and their efforts to pass the M.E.A.P.

I've been going here for 3 years now, and not once have I ever felt like this school was not for me, until the 05-06 school year. This year was my worst experience at a school in my life. From the way the school was when I first came in 03 to the way it is now, my beloved school has changed for the worst. It seems as if the more rules we get, and the more strict our school gets, the worst it becomes. We have great teachers, but as students we take out our anger on them when their inforcing the uniform policy and the behavior exceptations.

My son has come a long way while attending this school. His teachers have been a great encouragement to him. With special consideration going to Mr. Dicks. The teachers here do care. The school may need to work a little on the outside security but overall it's a good school. I would greatly recommend that you consider looking into this school if you are looking for quality education for your child. Keep in mind that every school, no matter where, has a problem or two. This school is focused on the children and getting every problem solved the best way they can

I dont attend weston tech anymore but have and it's a good school if you know how to stay focus. if you dot than you shouldnt be there. I read a feedbak they dont have bathroom doors simply cause yeah the students fight sometimes and the break things. and then some use the doors to smoke behind. the girls have doors but the boys abuse them. and once there broken they have to come off so if the boys had a problem with it, stop being so bad and they might put some doors on ya'll bathrooms. Then yeah they fight but they dnt just jump on somebody you got to interact in a conflict to be in it.And the principle tries his hardest to make the best envirionment for your child and if it's other wise it's not cause of him but cause of you child.

When I came to this school in the 9th grade, I thought it was really great. Now that this is my second year, I have seen a drastic change and its not good. Many students have left and so have the staff. As you can see in the other reviews, this is not a school that should come to mind when choosing one. I seriously recommend that you change your mind as soon as possible. If you want your children to learn then send them to a real school.

I have nothing to say but let this school be the last school you send your child.

Weston is not a school to send your child to. I've been, I hated it. The school has no doors on the bathroom stalls. The bathrooms are very nasty. The teachers are not teaching well. The teachers who were good, were either fired or they quit. The students hate the new uniform policy because it takes away there freedom of expression. They feel like they are being locked up.The school is not even big enough for the students. They have portables were you have to go out side to go to class. The principal is good but he's trying to make this school a prep school, with ties and vests. No that's not what we need. We need a school that will teach us young people the things we need to succeed in life. Please, parents do not send your kids here. I would not send my worst enemy here.

This is my son's 3rd year at Weston. This year there are significant changes for the better. The school has implemented a uniform dress code, beefed up security, there is some remodeling and building improvements, still no stalls on the bathroom doors though. The administration has implemented new & creative policies and procedures regarding curriculum & teaching. The high schoolers have 90 min block session classes & the 8th grade boys & girls have gender specific math & science classes, after school tutoring was increased to 2 days per week. All the changes are a HUGE improvement to the school. Still parent participation is low in the school's PTA. The only way to keep the momentum & help the school is with parent involement. There was significant change in the teaching staff this year, but that seems to have been a good move on the part of the administration. Debbie Lowery.

As a sudent i am here to say that even though some people say its a bad school. But coming from a student we think of it as the best school we have ever been to.They have bible classes latch key programs and many many more.Unfortunately last year was my first and last year. They have some great teachers there. For example mrs.Scott she was the best teacher i ever had.Sometimes i was out of control but she knew how to fix.She was the type of teacher who could be friend and who could be a teacher at the same time.We dont have lockers here but thats a good thing wouldnt you want to feel happy knowing your stuff is safe because it is sitting right next to you.Or would you want to be worried every hour hoping noone will break into your locker and steal your stuff. This is a great school.Iwouldoanythingtogobackto weston!

I would not recommend this school for a loving caring parent to send their child to. They have some caring teachers, but most are there just because its a job. They have a basketball team who beats up on your children and gets away with it. (mine was one) Safety is very poor you can just walk up in the school to any class no question asked, (I have plenty of times). Kids jumping other kids in bathroom, bathroom no stall doors, no lockers. They have a book they pass around as a parent to teacher communicater its horrible.
