I have spent many sunny afternoons at what I once thought was baseball's crown jewel - Wrigley Field. As a purist, Wrigley Field strikes a certain chord in the heart of a baseball fan that just feels right. But, if I was told tomorrow that the Cubs were going to tear down Wrigley Field and build an exact replica of PNC Park on Northerly Island (downtown), I would ask to lead the wrecking crew! There is no better venue in all of baseball. I have been to Turner, the Jake, Citizen's Bank, Camden Yard, Yankee Stadium, to name just a few, and none of them hold a candle to PNC. Spectacular views, fan-tastic food, and seats so close to the action you might want to wear your cup! Park downtown and take a walk across the Clemente Bridge. This park looks good, feels good, plays good and should at some point be the destination of all baseball fans.

I've been to Wrigley (great experience - SMALL seats)-and "The Jake" (very stadium-like)-Oriole Park (excellent-almost as good) and a few others. PNC beats them all! Parking can be challenging (especially on Bobble-Head or Fireworks nights) so park in town for $5 and walk across Roberto's bridge - enjoy the street vendors, have a beer and a slice at Vincent's (but save room!) Concessions are pricey (compared to the $1 menu at McDonald's) though, on the whole, are much less than I have found at other Parks. Like other "newer" Parks the variety ROCKS - there's a Food Court themed on Willie 'Pops' Stargell on the left field side. Primanti Brothers, Benkovitz Fish, Quaker Steak & Lube grace you on the Right field side. There are so many Vendor's on the concourses that lines are RARELY an issue. Hebrew National foot long hot dogs (the best anywhere-really-none come close) are available everywhere. They have great Pirates' Stores & Kiosks for anything Bucs. The Pittsburgh Ball Club levels offer padded seats (outside), higher end concessions, Bars & Buffets, Billiards, memorabilia and very comfortable air conditioned seating (inside). But...If you're looking for a TRULY SPECIAL experience-suck it up and buy a ticket for the Home Plate Club! Dinner at one of the best Buffets I've ever seen and someone to bring you all the Soda-Popcorn-Hot Dogs-Pretzels-Nachos-Candy-etc. that you can eat; RIGHT TO YOUR SEAT!!! They do everything but go to the restroom for you. And it's included in your ticket price...Which is steep (around $130) But it's worth every penny. The seats will put you CLOSER to professional baseball than almost anywhere else in the world. You can actually hear the "woosh" of the baseball. And a foul tip offers another special experience (evil giggle)! Do yourself a favor and come to Pittsburgh - it really is a great city and PNC Park is truly a Jewel in the Three Rivers' Crown!!!!

I love baseball, it's my favorite sport. Anytime I travel to a new city I always check out their ballpark. I went to one of the last games of the season last year at PNC Park. It happened to be on a fireworks night. I don't really care all that much for fireworks, but when they turned out the stadium lights it looked like the whole city moved into the stadium with us. It was magical. If you find yourself anywhere near the "Burgh" during baseball season, you owe it to yourself to see a game at PNC. For parking either park downtown and walk across the Roberto Clemente Bridge. Or park at Station Square and take the boat over to the park.

I had the luxury of going to one game when I was at grad school in the area. The view from the park is amazing! I've been to a few other parks and this one has them beat on view and seating. The only downfall is that the parking is dreadfully expensive. You can pay more to park than to buy a ticket.

This park is the best in AMERICA! Ive been to many parks and this beat em' all. Its already 5 yrs old but it looks like it was built yesterday. The skyline is awesome and thisi s the reason to come to Pittsburgh. Go to Buccaroos, Very cheap food!
