What a tragic mess!

My friends and I were visiting from New York City, and first found the place on a thursday evening. After the show, the music was excellent, energetic dance music presented by a world-class sounding DJ. Unfortunately, friday night was a bit different. A youthful nightmarish crowd filled with d-list city ego echoed around the worst music I'd ever heard. The DJ was rude, played hip hop and rap most of the night, and didn't bother to mix a single song. The bartenders must have graduated from he same charm school because they were just as mean. The bathrooms were disgusting, with throw-up and urine on the floor.

Pros: Thusday night provides real dance music, real DJ,

Cons: the place is a dump, full of holes in the walls.

A sad day.

Went to Pegasus, where on multiple occasions over the years on visits to Pittsburgh had been a fun evening. Unfortunately, it seems to be falling to the pressures of a young and overly fickle crowd who change their preferences more often than they change their costume. The most recent evening I went on a Saturday was goth night. The dance floor had 4 to 6 dancers and the bar was spacely occupied. The owners must have run off the normal crowd and appear desperate for anyone to occupy the club. I am back in Pitt this evening to see if this was a one time bad experience or is the end to what was a standby excellent club.

Pros: Location would be great for a real dance club. Too bad it's lost the edge.

Cons: A lot of young kids (pre 21) who seem like lost little chicks.

If anyone looks at the other good reviews, notice that thet were writen a few years ago. Pegasus has made one bad choice after the next. 1ST off, POOR DJ's. Dj's that cant mix well, or the fact that they are now playing alot of HIP HOP which has scared the crowd away. Also, almost every nite is 18 & over nite, leaving the 21 & up crowd SQUEEZED in a tiny area up by the bar...TRAPPED. Pegasus is just now taken over by new management(owners of the eagle) so, heres to hoping they fix & repair what was once everyones favorite hangout.

Pros: lighting

Cons: bad music, ATTITUDES, small area to drink

Pegasus is a great club for GLBTs and allies alike. I personally am a straight female and love being able to hang out with my gay friends there. Everyone is so accepting of everyone else. It's just a very fun and friendly atmosphere.

Small gay scene?

I am from out of town, but visit the Pittsburgh area every Christmas holiday. I've stopped in at Pegasus on a Friday night (around 11:30 PM), two consecutive years, now. I was surprised to find the place was dead. There were only about 20 people in the place. I love the ambience and the people are nice, but I expected a bigger crowd. Was this just an 'off night'? Maybe since Pittsburgh is an old, manly 'steel city', the gay scene is just really small?

Pros: Ambience, Friendly people, Music

Cons: Lack of crowd
