Mad Mex: a true Mexican legend
With six locations in the Pittsburgh area, Mad Mex is a true legend. This ultra-fun, upbeat and casual Mexican-American eatery serves up margaritas the size of your head, made with one of more than 40 varieties of imported Mexican tequilas.
With live music on the weekends and the best food this side of the border, Mad Mex is a restaurant of epic proportions. The multicolored lights and eclectic atmosphere is playful and relaxing-- the perfect place to unwind with one of three-dozen domestic and imported beers and some spicy tacos or burritos.
Perhaps the best part about Mad Mex is the price of the delicious food. For about ten bucks, you can enter a Mad Mex with your fuel tank on empty and leave with the needle pointing all the way to full.
To start your Mad Mex experience, try a big bowl of their famous chips & dip. Fresh corn tortilla chips are served alongside one of nine homemade dips. Try the fire-roasted tomato chipotle or pineapple habanero salsas or the XX cheese dip. Of course, lots of homemade guacamole is on hand, too. A bowl of red bean turkey chili, made with chipotle peppers and roasted tomatoes, is also the perfect starter to your Mad Mex meal.
Mad Mex also features a variety of crisp chicken wings in one of four tricked-out sauces. Try the San Francisco, which highlights the flavors of garlic, honey and red pepper, or the honey-chipotle barbecue, which features a sweet, smoky flavor with a bit of a spicy kick. Of course, traditional buffalo sauce is also available.
Massive burritos, including a wide variety of vegetarian varieties; cheesy enchiladas (try the chicken mole- it's muy delicioso!); crunchy chimichangas; fresh fajitas; tasty tacos; and decadent quesadillas are the mainstays of Mad Mex's menu. Basically, if you can dream it up, Mad Mex can cook it up.
