Mar 10, 2010

Situated in the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh on the banks of the beautiful Monongahela River lies the Rivers Casino. This new casino was recently opened in August of 2009 and has been increasing in popularity ever since. Thousands of entertainment and thrill-seekers attend the casino every day, playing their hands in slot machines and virtual card games.

More than 3,000 slot machines are located in the Rivers, as are five restaurants, four bars, a 1,000-seat outdoor ampitheater and a night club.

The Rivers restaurants include the Grand View Buffet -- an upscale lunch and dinner buffet featuring internationally-themed foods and desserts; Ciao -- a classy Italian bistro-style facility; the West End Cafe -- a low-key cafe for sandwiches, burgers, salads and beer; and Andrew's Steak and Seafood -- a fine dining facility featuring aged Angus steaks and fresh seafood. The Wheelhouse Grille is the newest dining addition at the Rivers, featuring a large variety of appetizers and burgers in a sports-themed atmosphere with a high-tech feel.

Bars include the centrally-located Levels, the Wheelhouse Bar, Drum Bar and Spiral Bar. Each bar serves dozens of draght beers, wine, and hand-crafted cocktails. The bars are located throughout the facility.

Frequenters of The Rivers can enroll in the Rivers Edge Players Club, which rewards players with discounted meals, free slot machine play and free gifts when they play often at The Rivers Casino.

The Rivers Casino has free on-site parking in a brand new, secured parking garage that is open 24 hours. The casino itself and some restaurants and bars are open 24 hours as well.

Several local hotels have partnered with The Rivers to offer discounted packages that offer a free bus shuttling service from the hotel to the casino and back. Bus trips are also available from neighboring cities.
