Pittsburgh's nationally-renowned Mattress Factory Museum is a truly mesmerizing experience that will leave you nearly speechless. This museum of contemporary art puts visitors right in the middle of pieces that wander far off the traditional beaten paths of paintings and murals. At the Mattress Factory, each room is a masterpiece: a three-dimensional canvas filled with each artist's emotions, expressions, thoughts and beliefs displayed in ways that are as unique as each artist himself.

Current exhibits include "Liz Walking: a Distillation Portrait" by Jim Campbell; "The Space Between" by Joseph Mannino; "Layers" by Nikki S. Lee; "Dust" by Paul Demarinis; "Liberty" by Greta Pratt; "Self Portrait as a PowerPoint Proposal for an Amusement Park Ride" by John Herschend; and "Vampiric Battle" by Tony Oursler. These displays change in March of 2010. For a complete listing of current exhibitions, click here.

Permanent exhibitions include works from artists William Anastasi, Rolf Julius, Greer Lankton, Allan Wexler, Bill Woodrow, Winifred Lutz, Jene Highstein, Yayoi Kusama, James Turell and the Chicago Collaboration.

The Mattress Factory is available for rental for private parties, wedding receptions, business luncheons or any other event. The museum's staff can help those interested to find the perfect caterer and decorations for the facility. For more information on booking the Mattress Factory for your event, click here.
