Pittsburgh Children's Museum: toddlers, tots and teens love it
The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh is a wonderful place for toddlers, tots and teens-- and everyone in between. The experience is rich with learning, but of course, the fun is what truly takes center stage. From hands-on activities to exhibits that are sure to hold the attention of even the most demanding child, the Pittsburgh Children's Museum is the place to be.
Open every day of the year except Christmas and Thanksgiving, The Children's Museum is a haven for parents who are looking for something unique to entertain and enrich their kid's lives. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about it-- The Pittsburgh Children's Museum is a great place to make lasting memories.
The Gravity Room, where everything is tipped at a 25 degree angle, is a perfect mix of sensory fun and education, while kids can create their very own puppet shows in the Animateering exhibit. The fix-it shop and kid's garage are perfect for boys and girls who like to tinker with cars and tools, and the huge garage climbing structure provides a giant indoor playground that is perfect for letting the kids release some of that pent-up energy.
Inside The Studio, little artists can make ink prints, mold clay, paint pictures and even make paper. Learn about acting in The Theater, float boats on a huge indoor river and learn how plumbing works by watching the clear pipes in the Waterplay area. If you've got a curious kid, there is sure to be an exhibit (or ten!) that will tickle his or her learning fancy.
A variety of classes and events are available. A list of upcoming classes and events is available here.
A food court is available and serves up fresh sandwiches, pizza, and finger foods so that you and your family can refuel during your visit.
Birthday parties are the specialty of The Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. Groups of up to 40 are accommodated at the museum. For more information on booking your child's birthday party at the Pittsburgh Children's Museum, click here.
