Biography:

Philosophy: I find myself most comfortable on back roads seeking scenes that are intriguing yet peaceful, when all the elements fall into place to capture that one special moment that we, as artists, can claim as ours.  

 

Style: Landscape, Scenic, Nature, Wildlife, Creative Indoor & Outdoor subjects.
 
Technique: I work with a Canon Power Shot Pro 1 digital camera, Nikon 885 Coolpix and several throw-a-ways. Photos are reproduced as Inkjet and Lithography prints. Geclee prints are also available in Open and Limited Editions.
 
Background: As a digital photographer, I seek to “capture the moment” as it appears in its own natural colors. As an artist in Pointillism and as a poet, my work has been published around the country. In 1987, I was named Personality of America for Outstanding Achievements in the Arts. In 1997, I received the Commemorative Medal of Honor for Outstanding Achievements & Dedication to Personal and Professional Goals from the American Biographical Institute.
 
Membership: NorthHillsArtCenter Artist’s & Craftsmen’s Guild, Hoyt Institute of Fine Art (application pending) and the Butler Institute of American Art – Youngstown, Ohio (application pending).
 
Vision: Photography is the ability to utilize the practices of artistic achievement. To have my work published on greeting cards, record albums and in Corporative Offices and lounges.
 
Publications: Haiku Zasshi Zo, Nite-Writer’s International Literary Arts Journal, Photographer’s Edge, Inc., Pittsburgh City Paper, The Aurora Review, Pedestal Magazine, The Adirondack Review, Reminisce Magazine, TPQ Online, British Journal of Photography,The Front Porch Magazine, Void Magazine,Dr. Henry Smith’s photography book, “Pennsylvania Seasons” and more.
 
Exhibitions: NHAC: Mid-Winter Hues Juried Exhibit Honorable Mention Award “Drifting Clouds” – 2003, NHAC: October 2003 Fall Membership Multi-media Juried Exhibit 3rd Place Award “Side View”. Hoyt’s 32nd Annual Regional Juried Art Show - Digital Photo - “Generator House” and “Autumn Vacancy”, The 49th Annual Kennerdell Arts Festival 2005, “Pithole City Reflections1st Place in the Professional Photography category.
 
Bio: John began his artistic career in 1986 while attending the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. John lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife, feline and K9.
